Situated in India’s northeastern state of Sikkim, Gangtok, is a quaint hill town that boasts of stunning views of the Kangchenjunga. As with most Indian hill towns, houses are built along a series of cascading steps. Come nightfall, Gangtok (5,410 ft), resembles a valley lit up by a thousand stars. It’s almost as if the stars have descended on earth, marking out the descent of the valley.
